ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m SEB

Hey, I’m Seb a jeweler and creative based in the Netherlands.

A lot of my jewelry starts with something that catches my attention shapes in nature, plants, textures, objects, or small details that inspire me in some way. I like turning those ideas into wearable pieces, often letting the design grow naturally from the original idea rather than forcing a fixed outcome.

Alongside creating jewelry, I document my process and progression as a goldsmith. I share the different projects I’m working on, pieces I’ve completed, and the experiments that come with learning and creating by hand on my social media.

I started making things because I was fascinated by the process itself the idea that you can take raw materials and slowly shape them into something meaningful. Over time, jewelry became the medium that allowed me to combine craftsmanship, creativity, and storytelling.

Now my work is a mix of creating and documenting: designing jewelry inspired by the things around me, while sharing the journey of becoming the artist and craftsman I want to be

My goals

as a goldsmith

I started pursuing my interest in jewelry about three years ago, after working with almost every material imaginable on all sorts of projects. I’ve created everything from wood and metal furniture pieces to broken glass sculptures, though I haven’t been able to document most of them.

When I discovered an official goldsmithing college, I became fascinated by the possibilities that jewelry holds. I began crafting my own pieces even before applying. Now, after several years of making jewelry, I’ve built a small workshop where I can bring any design I imagine to life.

As a creative person, I’ve made many a thing, but nothing truly allowed others to engage with or be inspired by my work. A few of my projects are out in the world, but access to them is limited, if people even get the chance to see them at all. The same applied to me personally: everything I created was stationary, and slowly disappeared overtime.

That’s what drew me so strongly to jewelry. It allows me to wear and carry my art with me, and others can do the same. Made from high quality precious metals, each piece is not only personal but also built to last a lifetime.

jewelry

Jewelry for me has become a way to be able to share my creativity and art, as something physical and meaningful. Everything i make is crafted with my own two hands and takes inspiration form nature, standing in contrast to fast fashion and the disposable nature of fast jewelry.

I create everything from high quality materials that will last for decades, if not centuries, keeping their worth and meaning over time.

impact

With this, I hope to make an impact on the way people view jewelry, moving away from mass produced pieces. Jewelry is not some extreme luxury only the top 1% can afford, it should be valued for the craftsmanship and the story it holds, not the number of diamonds set into a chain.

Because of that, even the smallest ring, pendant, or earring can carry an immense impact and value.

photography / videography

When I started documenting my journey as a craftsman and my life, I became really interested in videography. Many of my early videos were shot on my phone, figuring things out as I went, learning about angles, lighting, editing, voice-overs, and more. A few years later, I bought a camera with the profit I made from my jewelry. It’s now the camera I use for all my projects, but it also sparked a new interest, one that continues to inspire my work in different ways.

Now that I’ve also picked up photography, I use it as a way to document my projects, my life, and whatever I may get up to.
